Amazing Altskeith Country House wedding

Sophie and Rob are laid-back, driven and cool people who wanted to have a relaxed wedding day in the scenic Scottish locations. The couple and the majority of the guests came from England to enjoy the day at the picture-book-perfect venues.

The wedding started off at the remote Duchray Castle then proceeded to the picturesque St Anthony’s Church for the ceremony and ended at the amazing Altskeith Country House on Loch Ard.

It was rainy, windy and cold at times, but it did not matter at all. The couple had a brilliant time and so did their guests!

Duchray Castle & St Anthony’s Church

The bridal party got ready at the secluded and rural 16th Century Scottish Duchray Castle Estate.  The venue is nestled in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Forest. It is believed to have been built as a hunting lodge for the Kings of Scotland.

Duchray Castle is so cosy and dreamy. It is an ideal place to have a chill-out start while you are pampered and get ready for your wedding day.

The ceremony was at the charming St Anthony’s RC Church in Balfron. Over the years we have filmed many wedding ceremonies in the churches. Very often they are long, formal and similar. But not if you’re married by Father Jacob Kabamba. The priest welcomed the guests with a big smile and made the ceremony memorable to everyone.

Altskeith Country House wedding reception

After saying ‘I do’s’, first kiss and lots and lots of confetti, the newlyweds and the guests drove to the Altskeith Country House for the festivities.

The speeches got divided into two parts. First father of the bride and the groom and then the hilarious performance by the best men. Between the speeches the couple went for a wee boat trip on the Loch Ard. The party started with the cut of the cake and then the first dance. What an energy! The dance floor was packed!
